Kevin Smith

Mr. Kevin Smith has been employed with the Central Bank since April 2003. He currently holds the position of Manager, Reserves and Domestic Management Department.  In his capacity, he is responsible for the management of the country’s Foreign Currency Reserves, the Heritage and Stabilisation Fund, and the implementation of monetary and foreign exchange policies.

During the period November 2018 – May 2021, he served as Trinidad and Tobago’s representative on the Board of Executive Directors at the World Bank Group, where he was the office lead on project financing for the Caribbean, and Central and Western African countries. He also contributed to the work of the Small States Forum and the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24).

Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Management Studies from the University of the West Indies (UWI); a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of London; a Master of Business Administration (Distinction) from Heriot-Watt University; the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation; a Professional Certificate in Fintech from the University of Hong Kong; and a postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Distinction) from Staffordshire University.
